Add a payment link (e.g., Wise, Stripe, bank payment page) so your customer can pay through an external provider.

If you don't use an online payment provider connected to Invoiless, you can still let your customers pay directly from their invoice. Simply generate a payment link from your preferred provider (e.g., Wise, Stripe, or a bank payment page) and attach it to the invoice.

Add an external payment link

1. Open your invoice and go to the Control panel.
2. Expand the Manage payments section.
3. Paste your payment link in the External payment link field.
4. Save your invoice.
Your customer will now see a "Pay now" button on their invoice. When they click it, they'll be redirected to the payment provider's page to complete the payment.

💡 Can't see the external payment link option? Online payments and external payment links cannot be used together on the same invoice. If Accept online payments is enabled, disable it first — the external payment link field will then appear.

Use one-time payment links

Most payment providers let you generate a one-time payment link. We recommend using these whenever possible — they expire after a single use, which prevents your customer from accidentally paying twice.

What happens after your customer pays

After your customer completes the payment on the provider's page, you'll need to manually record the offline payment on the invoice. Once recorded, the invoice status will change from Pending to Paid.

Approved payment providers

To protect you and your customers from malicious links, we validate all payment link domains. Most major payment providers are already supported.

If you see the error: "This domain is not in our approved payment providers. Contact support to request it — we typically approve new gateways within 24 hours so you can get back to invoicing." — simply reach out to support with the payment provider's domain and we'll get it approved for you.
