Pretty linkĀ is an optional field that adds a readable name to the end of your document link, so it's easier to recognize when you share it. šŸ”—

Add a pretty link

  1. Open the invoice, estimate, retainer, or recurring invoice you want to share.
  2. InĀ 1 - Invoice information, find theĀ Pretty linkĀ field.
  3. Type a short name, for example your project name.
  4. ClickĀ Save changes.
šŸ’” To copy the link, click the invoice number next toĀ Edit invoiceĀ at the top of the page. You can also clickĀ View invoiceĀ to open it.

How pretty links work

  • Optional: without a pretty link, your link simply ends with the document ID.
  • Link format: your pretty link is added after the ID. For example, a link ending inĀ /i/abc123Ā becomesĀ /i/abc123/website-redesign.
  • Clean formatting: your pretty link is made lowercase, with dashes instead of spaces.
  • Change it any time: you can edit the pretty link even after sending the invoice or getting paid.
  • Old links keep working: if you change the pretty link, customers with an earlier link still land on the same document.
  • Recurring invoices: the pretty link you set on a recurring invoice is copied to every invoice it creates.

šŸ’” Want your links on your own domain? You can alsoĀ connect a custom domain.
